Why is it illegal or something to play dominoes in one of the American states on a Sunday?

I cant remember but I heard that somewhere. At school maybe. But I think its Alabama but im not sure. wait is that a state...pffftWhy is it illegal or something to play dominoes in one of the American states on a Sunday?
There are lots of old laws that still exist on the books in every state some are pretty funny, everything covering where and when you can feed your horse, to WHEN you can't have sex with your sheep...lol

Make sure you have a lantern on the front of your car when you go down the wrong way on a one way; or it will be illegal...lol thats also Alabama. Why is it illegal or something to play dominoes in one of the American states on a Sunday?
Just one of the old laws that no one ever removed from the books

Some of those old laws help both sides of a case. If you need to throw some really scurrilous person under the jail, you can easily find some really weird law while the actual case brews.

Similarly, if you have a good lawyer, you can find an old law that gets your case thrown out.Why is it illegal or something to play dominoes in one of the American states on a Sunday?
Go to www.dumblaws.com. They give all the dumb laws of States and other countries. They also give timeline of when law was enacted and reasoning behind it.
It was illegal because it was believed that dominoes led to gambling. It was part of the so called Blue Laws Lawshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Laws

These were laws set up to maintain morality and religiosity ie keeping the Sabbath Holy. Today most of these laws have been repealed or are no longer enforced. Some of them remain, in Oklahoma it is against the law for an Auto Dealer to sell cars on Sunday. This one has been kept because dealers and customers alike prefer to have a day when you can browse without dealing with a salesman.

I believe that political correctness has replaced the blue laws for preserving morality and making foolish laws. Yesterday you could not comb your horses tail on Sunday, today you cannot have a Manager Display on Main Street.
