Is there a winning strategy in a standard game of dominoes?

I think that in a game of 14x14 hex, there is a winning strategy for the first player. A "winning strategy" is awfully confusing for me to understand though. When it comes to a game of dominoes, is there a certain strategy that a player can take--particularly in a game with only two players--to effect a victory? In other words, is there an optimal way to win dominoes and become more of a professional player after practicing such a way?|||I only play standard 6 dot.. I can win fairly often on my gameboy just by trying to controll one number. If you can control that number to where they have to draw frequently you can control the game.. usually by forcing a stalemate and having less points than them is the best way.|||yes there is a possibility to win|||Yes you count the dominoes like you would cards. There is only so many of each. Hint: the more players you have the easier it will be|||If you can as suggested count the dominos then you can plan to maximise your score whilst minimizing the opportunities you leave open to others.
